JERYL'S TRAVEL DIARY

For those that know me, you'll know that I used to stay in Australia for a period of time when I was young. But even then, I've never visited Melbourne so I was pretty excited for this trip. I've split up the footages into 3 parts because I have way too many to fit into just one video so...

Part 1

So the very first place we decided to visit when we first touched down at Melbourne Airport was Dejour Jeans. This was a recommendation from a friend (you can see his travel blog here). If you’re looking to get a new pair of jeans, this is the place for you. The prices range around $50 but the best part is the customisations. Want a rip? No problem. Want it shorter? No problem. Alterations are at no extra cost (unless you want huge-ass rips), but you have to wait 1-2 days for it to be ready if I'm not wrong. It used to have same-day collection but I think they started getting a lot more customers so now same-day collections are not possible.

Our breakfast the next day before the long drive to the 12 Apostles was at Lune Croissanterie. We made a huge mistake by not doing our research beforehand but basically it doesn't allow dining in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Luckily we could still get takeaways. It was pretty good but to be honest, I felt it was super overpriced. The original is already AUD$5.5 so you can just imagine the prices of the rest.

I don't think much needs to be said about the 12 Apostles. During the drive, there are many other photo spots that you'll find and trust me, every single one of them is beautiful. Or at least when the weather is good. Luckily for us, during the days that we were visiting the 12 Apostles, the weather was pretty good. Though I can't say the same for the rest of the days.

Places included in the video:
Dejour Jeans
Brunswick Street
Chinatown
Melbourne Museum
Lune Croissanterie
12 Apostles

Part 2

I know we visited a sanctuary in the video but I'm so sorry I can't remember what's the name... It was just a random one we passed by when we were on our way back towards the city. But to be very honest, I wouldn't really recommend it because the animals there are pretty... lazy? They don't really like to be fed either (most of them). And there weren't many animals there either so it was pretty disappointing.

It was quite sad that we visited Phillip Island when it was raining but trust me, that day was our best option. Anyways, you can visit Koalas while you are there but unfortunately for us, most of them were sleeping when we visited... Although I must say, the Go-Kart was the best part of Phillip Island haha! You can also opt to go on the penguin tour at night but we decided not to coz it was a drive away from our airbnb and we didn't wanna go back too late because there were 6 of us sharing 1 toilet so... you get the point.

Places included in the video:
Queen Victoria Market
Phillip Island

Part 3

I didn't really have a lot of footage of Brighton Beach and the Bath boxes because it started to rain a little bit after we reached so... yeah like I said, the weather wasn't really on our side. But to anyone visiting Melbourne, the beach boxes are really cute (:

Luna Park was pretty interesting as well. It was smaller than I expected. I mean, I already knew it wasn't going to be big but wew, it was real small haha. Though it does allow for pretty good photo opportunities I feel, if the weather was better.

Places included in the video:
Yarra Valley
Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery
Rayner's Orchard
Prahran Market
Brighton Beach
Luna Park

There were a lot of other places we wanted to visit but let's just say we didn't have enough days and we're not the kind of people who would like to rush from place to place just to visit more places. But you can find some of the places that we (or should I say I?) listed down in the start here.

I know this post is out almost half a year late but well... better late than never (: Till next time~

It's been quite some time since my last post but hey, at least it's finally up haha (:
I didn't know whether I should post this before or after I settle down in Quebec so that's one of the reasons was why it took so long. Also, my exam ended on the 7th of December but I was flying off on the 16th, so the week in between was quite packed with making sure that I had everything I needed and meeting up with some of my closer friends as well.

This post is a little late since most of you already know where I'm going for exchange but well, better late than never right? For this post, I'll be mainly going through what I did pre-departure(including some advice which I may have), minus the packing. That post will probably only come nearer to my departure date.

HI GUYS! Since I’ll be going for exchange soon, I decided to create this new blog so I can record every single part of my experience and share them with you guys (: Kinda had this idea because it was so hard digging out information regarding my exchange so, why not help those going there in the future (: Especially with all the things we need to remember to bring pre-departure… And since I travel overseas yearly, I guess it’ll be nice to document those moments as well.
